Calculated at a resolution of 30 minutes of arc per division, D60 holds the catalog of your past life deeds. A planet that is exalted in D1 but placed in a bad division in D60 will manifest sudden losses and chaos during its Dasha.
Divisional Charts, known as Vargas, are micro-divisions of the zodiac signs in a birth chart. By dividing the 30 degrees of a zodiac sign into smaller sections (like halves, thirds, ninths, or sixtieths), astrologers can examine specific areas of a person's life—such as career (D10), marriage (D9), or wealth (D2)—with high precision.
The Navamsa (D9) chart is the most critical divisional chart in Vedic Astrology. It represents your inner potential, sub-conscious desires, and the actual strength of planets in your chart. While the main Rashi chart (D1) shows the promise of what you receive, the D9 chart shows the actual manifestation and whether you will experience fulfillment, particularly after marriage or age 30.
Vimshottari Dashas (planetary periods) are calculated using the moon's position, but their results must be verified against the divisional charts. If a planet is active in your Dasha, you must inspect its strength and dignity in the specific Varga chart associated with the event (e.g., checking D10 for career promotions, D9 for marriage timing).
